You can take a long screw driver of piece of drill rod and manipulate the lever that opens the latch to get the door open and make repairs as needed. If you are having trouble because your truck door won t open from the inside or outside there is most likely an issue with rods that hold the lock in place. Are there any tricks to open the door so i can finish my repair. It feels as if there is nothing there or no tension on anything.

I am in process of fixing it when the door shut.

If it does not move gently insert a screwdriver or small pry bar between the panel and door and gently pry the panel away from the door to determine if there are any retaining clips.
